Swine Flu can be prevented with Vitamin D

I read an article that said that Swine Flu (H1N1) can be prevented with vitamin D. I guess it's not that surprising but I think that scientists are realizing more and more that we're not getting enough vitamin D.

I think Vitamin D can do a lot but it can't do everything. At a time when my vitamin D was the highest, thats when I got two colds after not having any colds in quite a while ...so its proven to me that it is not all its cracked up to be. Mega doses of vitamin c brought a speedy recovery.

Every time some new great cure comes out there always seems to be disappointment trailing behind it. Vitamin D is just one cog in the health wheel, although an important one it would be a mistake to assume it will protect from and cure everything.

True, vitamin D isn't the only answer. But the point is that most people aren't getting enough vitamin D when they think they are (probably true of vitamin C as well). I think it's interesting that the most colds and flu's come during the winter months (when there is less sun, hence less vitamin D).
