HIFU - Prostate Cancer Treatment - High Intensity Focused Ultrasound

One of our forum members has had success with this treatment. Might be worth looking into. Its premise is based on the use of heat to kill cancer...

Cut and pasted from another thread:

Having performed over 1,000 HIFU cases in the past 7 years, and as a practicing urologist, I can assure HIFU is a viable alternative for the treatment of localized prostate cancer, and with less risks of side effects. it's not just heat that kills the cancer, the entire gland is cooked and turns to ash, you actually pee out the tiny particles, and Jim is left with a dent where his prostate once was. When we have sex there's no ejaculation...it's dry...no messy white sticky stuff coming out, but he climaxes just the same. I wish I'd gotten him "fixed" a long time ago!!! (:

'Lancet' has now published details of a sucessful study carried out using HIFU in the UK and it looks like the UK NHS will authorise larger trials which if sucessful could mean it being adopted in the NHS for PC within 5 years.
