Default Ginger selectively kills breast cancer cells

I only know 2 breast cancer survivors and 2 that did not. I'm always in favor of prevention, so here.....

Quote:
They discovered that ginger was capable of positively modulating a surprisingly wide range of molecular mechanisms simultaneously, such as:

Induction of apoptosis (programmed cell death)
Upregulation of Bax (a pro-apoptosis gene)
Downregulation of Bcl-2 proteins (cancer-associated)
Downregulation of prosurvival genes NF-κB, Bcl-X, Mcl-1, and Survivin
Downregulation of cell cycle-regulating proteins, including cyclin D1 and cyclin-dependent kinase-4 (CDK-4). (cancer-associated)
Increased expression of CDK inhibitor, p21 (anti-cancer associated)
Inhibition of c-Myc, hTERT (cancer-associated)

Most women are deficient in magnesium, vitamin D, and iodine... all of which prevent breast cancer, and what prevents a disease will also reverse it.

jfh, good to see you still post here...and I am curious as to weather Barb still pops in from time to time or not...

Thanks for posting, liverock. If I ever get diagnosed with prostate cancer I know which treatment I would prefer. Only challenges would be whether it works in humans, and how much raw ginger you would need to match the dosage of extract.

Talking YES!!! I love Ginger Root!

I have a decent juicer that I love making different kinds of fruit with ginger root I can't decide which is my favorite: mandarin orange, black grape, pinapple with a 3/4 piece of ginger root (it might be a bit too spicy for some people but i personally love it)
