Default Rheumatoid Arthritis and diet

Hi, have just joined this forum so trying to find my way around.
I was diagnosed five years ago with Rheumatoid Arthritis which has been very aggressive. Have been on immune suppressants but side effects meant had to stop. Doctor wants me to commence biologics but am resisting this, I am trying to get on top of this with diet and natural remedies. It is early days but am beginning to see improvement. Is anyone else following a very restrictive diet with results?

Fortunately I don't have to suffer such, but there is good info to be found on our forum from other discussing this. Here might be a good start for you.

Something that might help. http://www.nutripeople.com/condition...toid-arthritis

Something from our own site regarding potassium http://www.natmedtalk.com/showthread.php?t=3122

Rose-hips could offer a cheap and effective way of treating debilitating rheumatoid arthritis http://www.natmedtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1776

And a very good article from Dr Mercola regarding bioligics vs natural http://articles.mercola.com/sites/ar...0927_DNL_art_2

Oh. And welcome to the forum. We love to share and hope that you do as well.

Indi, I'm a real life example of one who is following the holistic path of treating my RA and I can only say that I'm feeling better each day. Diet plays a major role in RA inflammation. Studies have also shown that there is a close correlation between the foods we eat and RA, "you are what you eat", and many people have shared with me that their inflammation have calmed with a drastic change in diet after cutting out allergenic foods.

In my view, RA can be more of a multifaceted issue, so diet alone may not be adequate to improve the condition for many. I suggest you study and explore the many potential causes of RA and which of those may possibly trigger your RA onset. My personal may interest you if you like to go with natural remedies.
