From that article:
Quote:
Scientists have known for some time now that a naturally occurring substance, found in your body's cells and also present in vegetable fibre, is an effective anti-cancer agent. Now, there is mounting evidence to suggest that this active compound could also play a vital role in the prevention and management of Type 2 diabetes.
That's Type 2.

As I've said before, IP6 is nearly magic. One minor warning. Maybe not for NatMedTalk member, but for other readers who may also be on pharmaceuticals. IP6 has a strong affinity for iron, but can also remove other minerals, so take it by itself. Take an extra mineral supplement during the day. And especially take it away from your other medications. If you are on blood thinning medication, you might want to reconsider taking IP6. Otherwise it has been proven safe in many tests with many subjects.

IP6 does not remove iron from red blood cells.

IIRC, it chelates UNBOUND minerals, not bound minerals. It would seem to me that taking a mineral suppliment with the IP-6 would cause the IP-6 to bind with the minerals you just took.

If you read my other IP6 posts you will see that you don't take the mineral supplement with the IP6 that you "just" took. The bottle label also indicates that you should take a mineral supplement. An empty stomach also means IP6 is not to be taken with food, as those minerals would be at risk also.

Ok, thanks. So how long after the IP-6 would you take your daily mineral supplement?

I guess you should take the IP-6 with distilled water.

IP6 should always be taken on a very empty stomach (4 to 6 hours after meals and at least 30 minutes before eating) with a full glass of water to carry IP6 through your stomach and into your intestine swiftly for proper absorption. Any food at all present in your stomach will largely deactivate most of the benefit you might get from IP6. Similar problems will occur if you take it without adequate water to carry it swiftly through your stomach. Mucus, prostaglandins, acids and gastric secretions can damage IP6 if they are not diluted with water.
