Default Eat for Your Blood Type?

Should you try and eat for your specific blood type? Has anyone here tried that? Does it help? Where is a good site that shows info for this?

I do not buy that because there are a number of different tyyping protocols with the A, B, O system being the main one, but there is also positive negative and other factors.

There are also metabolic difference for people in the different blood type group, such as diabetic, candida sufferers, LBS problems. Also, our needs change as we age. Some people are athletic, some have food intolerance. I just don't think a diet based upon a general subset of audience is worth considering.

Here is the site that delves in to the book "Eat Right for Your Type" and the doctor who started this mess. They have a sample guide for each individualized blood type. http://www.dadamo.com/

The diet seems to work for some. But is it because they "eat right for their type" or is it because it forces them to say no to junk food?

I had a long look at this theory and posted on the blood type diet forums. I didn't really launch in and try it too much because I found some information to be contradictory.

The Blood Type diet was Dr. D'Adamo's first offering. The problem is that he dogmatically identified certain foods as "toxic" for a certain blood type. Then later he came out and said added caveats like, "well, this food is not toxic if you are a 'secretor' ".
Now he has introduced a GenoType diet which many think is replacing the Blood Type diet completely. If you go to his website and take the test "which diet is right for you" , whatever you input, it will give you the result "GenoType".

Cynically, this is because maybe he wants you to buy his diet software and take various tests (which you have to pay for of course).
Then again, maybe there's something in it. He says certain types need to avoid gluten and dairy. To which I would say, "a lot of people would do better avoiding gluten and dairy!"

It makes no sense that there would be a subset of vegans living amongst hunters, which is what the blood type theory asserts.

The blood type theory is crap.

It's worth checking into - is testing difficult? Time consuming?

It reminds me of the rotational/allergen/sensitivity diets, beefed up somewhat.

Some rice. Quinoa (is this grain?) Kaniwa. Amaranth. Buckwheat. Here and there.

Mostly salads. Avocadoe. Tomatoes. Berries. Apples. Carrots. Cabbage. Etc.

Raw, organic nut butters. Coconut oil *unrefined.

Teas.

Ooops, that's not what you asked, is it?

Quinoa, amaranth and buckwheat are all pseudograins/pseudocereals, not grains.

Technically buckwheat is a fruit!

Actually, yes! That is what I asked.

I eat rice on occasion too.

I was trying to not be negative and ask, "You're not eating wheat, oats and corn, are you?"

I think one of the benefits I got from my vegan days was the elimination of wheat. I'm eliminating it now and feel much better.

Yes.

I sprout the hulled ones to eat like a grain and the unhulled ones to grow buckwheat greens. The greens are amazing liver detoxifiers, but need to be had in moderation because they contain the chemical "fagopyrin", which makes your skin phototoxic (very sensitive to sunlight) if you consume large amounts.
