Default Spontaneous combustion

A man who burned to death in his home died as a result of spontaneous combustion, an Irish coroner has ruled.
It is believed to be the first case of its kind in Ireland.
West Galway coroner Dr Ciaran McLoughlin said it was the first time in 25 years of investigating deaths that he had recorded such a verdict.
Michael Faherty,76, died at his home in Galway on Dec. 22nd 2010

They had an interesting show on this last night on coasttocoastam with George Noory. Many theories about how the body may heat up like that internally. Here's the link for anyone interested.

One of the few things that sounds my 'BS' horn.

Supernatural? Maybe. Physically possible in the normal? No.

A visitor asked the director of a crematorium in Poland why the place smelt so bad. The answer was that they used spontaneous combustion.

This reminds me of the story about the hospital doctor talking to the wife of a man who hasd just died of a heart attack, telling her he had died of a massive infarct". Infarct is dr terminology for a heart attack. When her daughter asked her Mother what the doctor said, she said " He died of a massive internal fart"

I agree. It would seem that with our 85% water content, the remaining 15% of our body mass would not have the required Kcals to boil off the water, which would be necessary before combustion could take place. After all, if we were any where near this limit, people caught in fires would gain enough heat to finish their complete combustion.
