Well, even though I like and read Rense a lot. I found some of their "facts" to be incorrect in this article.

I have a very close friend in Human Resources of a very large company. They were getting a lot of queries about the possibility of taxation of their health insurance benefits, the part that the company pays as well as their own. So HR had to do research and then send out a company wide memo.

The insurance will show up on the paycheck, but it will not be taxed at all. I don't know why it even needs to show on the pay stub. Maybe something is going to happen in the future.

I think these stories have a lot of spin.

The only reason for this to show up on a pay stub is for tax purposes, if not now then in the future. Currently you will need it to prove that you have insurance, or you will be taxed.

But with our already weaken economy these additional taxes could be the straw that breaks the camels back and puts us into a full-blown depression. Personally I think we are already there but our illustrious leaders don't want to admit it.

Here is an interest map showing how our unemployment has been running. Per change do you notice a trend?
(black = 10% or more unemployed)

Yikes! That map does indicate that middle America is handling it the best.

MS, your statement, "Currently you will need it to prove that you have insurance, or you will be taxed." is similar to the laws of uncovered auto insurance. No insurance, means more burden for the rest. I don't know if it is national, but in TX you will be fined.

Angry

I see that Ky, Ind and Ohio all have 10% or higher. I know that with the
Nov elections soon to be, that the encumbent Oh Governor is being heavily
chastised for Ohio's close to 11% unemployment, saying it's one of the highest in the nation.
Ky's is a bit less so but empty shops are increasing especially in smaller outlet locations. Even Consignment shops are selling less tho more people bringing in stuff to sell.

It is similar in Illinois. A friend of my son was fined for not having insurance (he was out of work for 9 months or better) also to not have his license revoked he was forced to buy high priced insurance package. You think the insurance companies had something to do with writting this law?
