Default What Do You Think About Canned Smoked Oysters?

Usually they are in cottonseed oil...or something similar....

regardless....would you consider this semi-healthy?

Smoked meats contain nitrosamines and nitrosamides. Both are carcinogenic in lab animals.
If you do eat smoked meat you should wash it down with vitamin C and E to help neutralize the nitrites.

I am very leary of cottonseed oil as they use a lot of pesticides on cotton which can typically be found in the seed. I wont eat it. Otherwise, unadulterated oysters, they say are very good for you. I can't get past the gross slime factor.

I am leary of it also:

1) God did not design cotton seeds for our consumption.
2) They have a mild toxin which causes temporary sterility in males.
