Default Whatever happened to Bird Flu?

I haven't heard a thing about Bird Flu for several months?

With the Nov elections coming up, I wonder if this one
will be brought up for us again to be Protected from?

Nothing like the FEAR Factor to Fool the public

I doubt any incumbents will want to discuss why our various levels of government (over)spent millions (billions) of dollars to stockpile Tamiflu, a drug that was known to be ineffective in the first place -- not to mention the fact that the bird flu virus never has mutated into an airborne form capable of causing a pandemic.

"Political Truth" is an oxymoron. The best bumper sticker I ever saw said it all: "Re-elect NOBODY," i.e. our republic's representative form of government was never meant to have career politicians.

Hmmm. This is a soapbox I didn't mean to get on. Sorry.

Default Bird Flu

You are probably right, Varkie, but I feel sure they'll
come up with some more FEAR tactics somehow,
somewhere, the closer we get to Nov 7th. It may depend
on how smart the Sheeple have become?

I'm watching the Senate and Congressional races closely.

The tiny democracy of Costa Rica has a very unique
law on their books. It states simply:

"No polititian can succeed himself/herself."

How simple can you get?

Default Vaccine

Well, we're Now into the Flu season, so maybe the Tamiflu can be used for that........perhaps given to Vets in Vet Hospitals or Care Centers.

Either that or come up w/a New scary flu.

Along the same line as to what I being reported and what is not, I ran across the following article.

Quote:
Fox Fires Reporters for Telling the Truth About Milk

In 1997, a pair of reporters prepared a report for a Fox TV affiliate in Florida about the dangers of bovine growth hormone (BGH) in milk. Lawyers for Monsanto, a major advertiser with the network, sent letters promising "dire consequences" if the story aired.
After attempts by Fox to bribe the reporters to keep quiet failed, the station agreed to air a revised version of the report. An unheard of 83 edits later (including Monsanto insisting that the word "cancer" be replaced with the phrase "human health implications"), the report was shelved and the courts took over.
Although a lower court ruled in favor of the reporters for some $425,000, a Florida appeals court denied them whistleblower protection, claiming Fox, and the media in general, have no obligation to tell the truth, in effect, having the freedom to report what is fact and fiction as real news.

I (We) subscribe to Dr. John Cannell's theory of the
seasonal nature of flu (all types). He, and his
colleagues suggest that the reason that flu comes
on in the fourth quarter and continues 'til the second
is plain old Vit D. Low sun angles in the northern
climates, coupled with cold weather that drives us inside,
creates a shortage of this vital element.

We just increased our daily input to 2000 IUs and
will keep it there until spring. (And we do not intend
to get a flu shot)

The 400 IU recommendation of the gov't is bogus.
Your body makes thousands of IUs in the sunlight.

I'm a Vet and going to a Vet's Hosp. right now is scary.
There are corpsmen in the lobby with needles and you
almost have to run the gauntlet to avoid being "shot."

Jeez.....shades of Viet Nam!

Yeah, I'm a ww2 vet and nothing changes. I was in North Africa + for a couple years and we got something besides the needle: Atabrine--we all turned yellow for many, many months. In addition, there were diseases not even heard of here in the U.S.

Today I avoid the needle at all costs

Donee, wasn't that an anti-malarial drug at that time? I was in Malaya, as a teenager, in 1955 or so. We all took anit-malarials then and I remember the name Atabrine and people talking about turning yellow!

Default Vets!

Personally, I think the Gov. should stop using our Vets
for guinne pigs. I consider this mistreatment

They've already given their time, efforts, limbs, many their
very lives for us - their Country and citizens.

Many thanks to All of you Veterans - past and/or those who
have family in the Services presently

Nice thought, EarlyBird.

However . . . I never had the belief that I was being used as a 'G'pig. I had the feeling that the government was doing the best that it could in view of the circumstances. I continue to believe that.

I wish I could believe that. But that is hard to accept when two-thirds of the solders that fought in the Gulf War now have life depilating problems. Is it because of the deplete uranium munitions? The chemical warfare agents or the interaction of all the vaccines given prior to going over there? Or perhaps some of all of the above. In any case they went over as healthy young adults and came back sick.

Then because they have many different ailments they are told their problems are not war related and the government will not treat them. If they continue to complain they are send to a mental ward and are given antidepressants.
