Need info about scorpions

A freind of mine sent me an email this morning, asking me if I could find out what type of toxins are in a scorpion sting? His question:

can you find out for me what type of toxin is in a scorpion sting?? Like does it destroy the flesh, or attack the muscle, or does it affect the nerves like a coral snake-nurotoxin I think they call that type.

I am assuming, that he got bit... but he didnt say. Dont ya hate it when they do that... makes you worry more.....Any info you could give me would be great... Thank you very much

From what little I've been able to find so far, there is only one type of deadly scorpion, out of about 20 species in this country, and that one is found in Mexico and the most southern parts of the U.S. This article may be helpful. There's a link at the bottom telling about treatment. It sounds as though the sting is more painful than toxic. I keep thinking I've read about putting sugar on a bite or bee stings. Not sure about this though.
