Articles like threse are very deceptive and to not reveal the full truth about the epidemic that is upon us.
Although hand washing is very important there is more going on to the spread than this. Our hospitals are filthy and no one is doing anything about it. No matter how much you wash your hands you cannot keep them clean. Surgical suites are the worst. 30 percent of ALL people in Marin County, California are colonized for MRSA! The CDC mandated back in the mid '70's that testing hospital surfaces was not necessary. Yet recent studies in leading hospitals have found that MRSA rates can be cut significantly when housekeeping staff are retrained in cleaning procedures and use appropriate products. Also, requiring a nasal swab for all people upon admit to hospital to test for MRSA colonization and then subsequent nasal treatment with bactroban also lowers hospital acquired MRSA infections.
Yep MRSA is the new plague that few people are talking about. CA-MRSA
(community acquired) or HA-MRSA (hospital acquired) are the two classifications. I have been looking into this intensively over the past 6 months or so and I did an inservice on it at my work last month. I have collected up alternative treatments and will post them. Which treatment to choose will by determined by how bad you have it. If amputation is threatened then a trip to Lubbock texas is merited to the wound care center.
Since I have an ozone machine that is what I would use. The most cost effective treatment is garlic.
Although not listed below I have read stories on how MRSA was cured by taking 3 to 4 raw garlic cloves every 3 to 4 hours for one month. Can't get any cheaper than that. For the less brave there are some advanced allicin products.

Things You Can Do to assist your body with Supplements
First and foremost: Take lots of probiotics before, during and after all antibiotic therapy. For every week of antibiotic therapy do 3 weeks of probiotics after in high dosage, then continue with a maintenance dose. This may help prevent candida infection and will help to maintain a healthy immune system and will help prevent leaky gut syndrome.
Aloe Vera in freeze dried preparation will help to heal the gut and reverse some of the damage antibiotics cause. I like the aloe product found at
www.GoodCauseWellness.com
Take Vitamin C up to bowel tolerance See this site for applications:
http://www.vitamincfoundation.org/
Take and immune booster like Transfer Factor (do a search for product) or Beta – 1.3/1.6-D-Glucan from NOW products
Take a comprehensive B vitamin Supplement that delivers at least 100mg of each of the B complex. Folic acid should be 1 to 2mg a day. Many antibiotic therapies deplete B vitamins.
Take a sublingual preparation of B12. Take 5,000 mcg a day. Get your doctor to give you B12 injections weekly or biweekly also. You can't get too much of this if you are doing antibiotic therapy.
Drink fresh Vegetable juice daily
Take a Greens Supplement like found here:

And found cheaper here:

Disinfect your house with an Air Ozonator. Learn about medical ozone. Drink ozone water.
Use a strong germmaicide on doorknobs, faucet handles. Carry a sanitizer with you.
Grapefruit Seed Extract GSE from Nutribiotics is a strong nontoxic to people germacide for cleaning surfaces. You can make your own spray bottle.
A very few supplements may interfere with a few antibiotic therapies. Ask your doctor first.
