Default May 15 Deadline Today!

Well, today is the deadline for the new Part D Medicare Insurance coverage. Did anyone go with AARP's program?

I'm curious as to how many of you felt the need for this coverage and why so? Any responses would be appreciated.

Thanks!

My wife and I did not go for it. But being a youngster of only 85 I don't use/need any prescription drugs as yet.

Default Part D?

I'm just wondering if it's proven beneficial for those who've gotten it?

Arrow:
I don’t need it, don’t want it, and think the program is a joke to say the very least. But I still sign up.

The reason being is if due to some unknown motivation in the future, on the complete off chance that the program might somehow possibly be upgraded into something of trivial value I would not want to pay the penalty premium for late enrollment.

As a result I signed up for the cheapest program I could find with the full realization that I probably will never use it.

For those who currently have an insurance company that has good drug coverage (VA) and are certain the company will not decide to drop their drug coverage because of this all encompassing government plan, then they would not need to sign up.

Doesn’t it make you feel all warm and fussy to know how well our politicians are taking care of us?

Donee, that's INSPIRING! If you're still movin' 'n groovin' and shakin' things up on the Internet and elsewhere at 85, there's hope for us all!

Good advice!

You gotta' ask yourself the question, "Why are they
offering this, and why is there a deadline?"

Who benefits? You, or the Gov't.? (or the Insurance
companies)

It all comes on too quickly and is too complicated
for the average Jane/Joe to figure out.

Smells fishy!

If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck...........

JPS has it right.

Do the math and think about it.

Insurance is targeted socialism -- To be solvent and yield a profit an insurance function needs a whole lot of those who pay more than they get in order to service those who get more than they pay for. If their ratio is not favorable they go broke.

Who benefits most?

Insurance companies and the government collects a lot of money.

Drs get paid without having to look you in the eye with a demand.

A few will actually get a cost benefit.

Based upon and increased demand for prescription drugs, their numbers will rise. that will lead to rise in deaths, which will reduce the social security pay out costs.

And the illegal aliens will benefit the most because they will get everything free anyway!!!!!

And I could go on --

Default Part D?

Well it looks like no one has benefitted from it so far.

After listening to a good explanation on a PBS program, about how the 'in-between' amount that Seniors will have to pay themselves, will keep getting higher, as time passes, plus all that time, the patient will have to continue to pay the monthly amount to the Insurance Co. I decided to forego this one. The man who was explaining it said that middle interim cost could grow to $5000.00 or more in just a few years.

I don't plan on taking big Pharma Drugs anyway, unless it would be just long enuff to get out of a hospital, until I could return to my Alternative stuff.

Thanks to all of you who responded.
