Default PMS Mood Supplements

I suffer from severe PMS that starts a week before my period is due and builds up until the Friday(day before period) where I am extremely angry and want to argue with anyone who I can pick a fight with. Normally, I am a calm, peaceful person so this is troublesome to me. I just feel full of rage and nothing helps to calm me down. I'm still getting started on a vitamin&supplement plan for mood and anxiety.. So I am wondering what I could add that would relieve or at least tone down my mood problems during PMS.

Currently I'm taking GABA, Taurine, Tyrosine, Garlic, Probiotics, A Multivitamin with b-complex, and Magnesium..

Foods rich in phyoestrogens such as flax seed, soy, peas, yams, seaweeds, parsley, etc. will help.

Digestive bitters cleanse the liver, which in turn allows the liver to break down excess hormones. Vitamin B helps this process too.

You may try adding licorice root to your regime for its estrogenic effects and its supportive role on the adrenals. Wild yam is also a good choice.

This makes me so happy that I'm a male. I can't imagine having such imbalanced hormones.

Thanks. I also read Vitex could help? But I've also seen reports of it causing depression, so I am scared to even consider it.

Would there be something herbal just to take the edge off especially in the day or two before?

Vitex (chaste tree berry) helps the body to generate its own progesterone. Unlike progesterone creams or other progesterone pharmaceuticals the vitex will not overload the body with progesterone. But it takes several months to kick in. This is an indigenous bush to Texas. The deer won't even eat it or the berries. So many home landscapes have this.

The only thing I can think of is the licorice root I mentioned. I know that licorice can cause problems with blood pressure in large quantities over a period of months. But it is also a great anti-inflammatory.

Jiaogulan is also very good for perimenopause and menopause for later in life. As the ovaries shut down, the adrenals are forced into producing hormones. Jiaojulan is a good adaptogen for the adrenals. But just in case, Google jiaojulan to see if it can help.
