Default How to get fluoride out of the water

I want to influence our city/state to stop the flouridation they implemented in 2007. Is the best way to go about it to contact my city representative or is it better to become part of some type of organization?

I spent 1/2 hour talking to our city water department which lead to nothing constructive. The worker did get upset when I mentioned being poisoned by fluoride. That obviously was a hot button.

Power is in numbers.

Start by finding out if there is an anti-fluoride group in your area. Most bigger cities usually have an anti-fluoride group, so it is just a matter of gathering information from the internet that have already been used to stop fluoridation in other cities, and presenting the information to city hall.

It is up to city hall to stop fluoridation of the water supply. Once they see there is no benefit and potential health risks, they will stop it.

Many cities have stopped fluoridating drinking water in the last few years.

While obviously it's important to consume as little of this neurotoxin as possible, we also have to bear in mind humans have been drinking tea (high source of flouride) for thousands of years and generally regarded it as safe in reasonable quantities daily.
The difference between then and now is MELATONIN. One of the dangers of fluoride it that it builds up in the pineal gland and reduces melatonin secretion and less melatonin means more damage to mitochondrial function and less protection from oxidative stress.

MELATONIN does help protect from the fluorosis so we should be supplementing with melatonin if we are obliged to drink fluorinated water and we should be paying attention to sleep hygiene (keeping bedrooms dark at night) getting bright light exposure daytime, using free FLUX on our PC monitor.

these are what I use
Source Naturals, Meriva Turmeric Complex, 500 mg, 120 Tablets
Our price: $26.87 (17.62)
I buy from Iherb because shipping to UK cheapest. Code WAB666 saves $5 initially and other discounts are available. US/Canadian readers may find google/amazon turns up cheaper option depending on shipping/discounts available.
Natrol, Melatonin TR, Time Release, 3 mg, 100 Tablets : $5.10 (3.34)

Melatonin raises glutathione levels
Just adding this link because although it's something I knew and I suppose for many people here I'm just stating the obvious like restating vitamin d does the same, it's fundamental to how the benefit of melatonin and or vitamin d function.

Iodine deficiency is another cause of fluoride build up in the tissues. Or is that the other way around? Maybe fluoride is one of the causes for iodine deficiency. Anyway, add more iodine to your diet, because iodine is one of the top chelators of iodine. Actually I have not found any tested fluoride chelator other than iodine.

Interesting article here on Fluoride and Tea. The site also has information on the actions of fluoride on Thyroid function.

Sorry to hear about aluminum in tea too. I suppose it has a lot to do with where it is harvested.

I knew that fluoride could mimic iodine in the thyroid. So can bromide. These are sister elements. Chlorine, fluorine, bromine and iodine. All halogens. Similar atomic weights. Iodine weighs the most of them. Fluorine is the most reactive. There is another halogen, called astatine. It is radioactive. Anyway, the halogens can displace iodine, as we have dropped our intake of iodine through the years. I'm not counting astatine in this. So, this is why it is so important to increase your daily consumption of iodine. This is especially important in countries that consume a lot of tea, such the UK. Once again, Japan is the role model. They consume a lot of tea, but also consume a lot of iodine.

Iodine chelates heavy metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium and aluminum.
