Wife had a bad cough and honey didn't seem to help. Granted it was one teaspoon and not mixed with anything warm. Next time will try the coffee, cocoa, honey combo
Thyme is very popular here for coughs. A new pharmaceutical anti-cough medicine was launched a while back, pretty much giving a guarantee to knock out any cough. A bold claim.
A closer inspection of the package caused me to note the pastille contained nothing more than thyme and sorbitol!
I know this goes against a lot of people's grain but from my personal experience I wouldn't recommend ACV to anyone with already bad acid reflux. In my case it made it many times. But results may vary when it comes to remedies like these.
I'm not saying this was the case here, but some people forget that ACV as it comes in the bottle is highly concentrated and they take it neat, rather than diluted.

This works like a dream. Apart from that I also prefer peppermint. Peppermint leaves are well known for their healing properties. Menthol in peppermint soothes the throat and acts as a decongestant, helping to break down mucus. You can benefit by drinking peppermint tea or by inhaling peppermint vapors from a steam bath. To make a steam bath, add 3 or 4 drops of peppermint oil for every 150 milliliters of hot water. Drape a towel over your head, and take deep breaths directly above the water.
