need thoughts!.....I took bactrim for twenty days and did prostate massage on my own. I did it based on what a few of you said about the drug.

On the 18th day or so....puss and a bunch of it.....twice. After the second time it happened... I felt wonderful! I wanted to continue taking the bactrim....but I have been out of town working and ran out of meds.

Do to the job I cant go to the doctor for a few weeks.....I hate it.....but just cant go. I had prostatits and eppididymitis....Now just mild to bad prostatitis at times. I take natural meds, good diet, exercise but I still feel very tired!

I started taking a large amount of b12....nothing. I had an important day at work so I took one of those 5 hour natural energy things in the small bottle. I never wanted to take something like that.... but it helps! It takes away the pain as well! When I drink them I have no pain and I stay alert. Off of them.... Pain, foggy brain, tired as all get out!

Why does this stuff help? Why does it help with the pain?

found the answer...niacinamide! B3. I found a few things that are interesting about Niacin and niacinamide. I am going to the store and pick up a couple of things. I have been on the candida diet for a while.....you find b3 in a few things that are not allowed on the diet. Niacinamide is needed to fight uti, yeast infections, fungal infections, prostatitis.

I do know, when i take the energy booster.... I feel wonderful.

Wish me luck.

Hey I just thought of you guys! Hope some of you are feeling a bit better or cured? I'm still doing very well! I still don't have symptoms! Just amazing that I finally beat this for now and even though I've been under massive amount stress with my girlfriend. More than in my whole life. I haven't had any symptoms at all. So anyway, it's not stress that caused my prostatitis! I'm grateful that I am still healthy

I'm still taking a few supplements just in case. Taking anywhere from 2 - 4 allicin a day as well.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/ar...tibiotics.html

check that out. The breakdown products of allicin is very powerful in fighting infections. Shame that AllicinMax costs so much outside the UK!

Can anybody comment on this, does anybody with chronic prostatitis chew tobacco ? I thought of getting me some chewing tobacco but wasn't sure if it would make symptoms worse or not. I have read smoking cigarettes can, but i don't smoke. Does anybody dip or chew ? And does it bother your symptoms

Thanks

This new antibiotic called Daptomycin seems is better than Vancomicin against enterococcal faecalis infection. It is quite new ( since 2003).

See these studies with Daptomycin

Adverse effects

Adverse drug reactions associated with daptomycin therapy include:There are also reports of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis occurring in patients simultaneously taking statins[10] but whether this is due entirely to the statin or whether daptomycin potentiates this effect is unknown. Due to the limited data available, the manufacturer recommends that statins be temporarily discontinued while the patient is receiving daptomycin therapy.

In July 2010, the FDA issued a warning that Daptomycin could cause life-threatening eosinophilic pneumonia. The FDA said that it had identified seven confirmed cases of eosinophilic pneumonia between 2004 and 2010 and an additional 36 possible cases. The seven confirmed victims were all older than 60 and symptoms appeared within two weeks of initiation of therapy.

I will state this, you are not going to get rid of chronic prostatitis with antibiotics(and this is coming from me, the guy who was pro-antibiotic all the way at one point). It took me a while to realize this, my advice is stop taking pills unless they're for pain. You take antibiotics long enough and you will start irritating the symptoms and end up making it worse. Unless a doctor can show you an actual infection in the urine or prostate fluid or semen, there is no point in taking antibiotics because they don't usually work for chronic prostatitis pelvic pain syndrome (cpps). And not only that, I have read countless times that if some one was found to have a hidden infection, that without a prostate massage 9 out of 10 times antibiotics don't even penetrate the prostate gland, so all those antibiotics you just took went in every part of your body but your prostate. prostatitis is a complex disease, it is not as simple as grabbing a glass of water and swallowing some pills and being cured.

options that no one wants to seek other than popping pills include.

1. A prostate massage (needs to be performed by a doctor, at least 3 times a week for a couple of months, and don't try to do this yourself by shoving a dildo up your butt or you will end up making the disease worse)

2. Prostate injections, many men get cured with injections of antibiotics into the prostate. By doing this you avoid all the side effects because the medicine goes in the prostate and not all through your body. And you get a super concentration of the drug. It's generally safe and effective....

3. physical therapy with a therapist some people claims this really helps them.

4. Trans rectal ultrasound - you must have one of these done, it is sonar to show any problem with prostate inflammation, infection, abscess etc. many men end up getting cured thanks to the ultrasound as it locates many prostate problems that are not so easy to find and lay hidden.

If you want to post on this website for the next 20 years and talk about how you are going to cure yourself with your 30th course of doxyxcline or your 30th course of ciprofloxacin be my guess. course 1 -29 didn't work for you, but if for whatever reason you think course 30 will work, then have at it. I'm through taking antibiotics, as I have stated all you are doing is causing your body harm, because there are to many variables that make oral antibiotics ineffective against chronic prostatitis. It took me 2 years of taking almost every antibiotic pill there is to realize this. oral antibiotics were invented to be taken 10-14 days, any linger than this and you are asking for trouble. If a doctor thinks you do have a prostate infection he would be better off giving you some shots for a couple of days or an IV which is more effective and safe than pumping you full of pills for 4-12 weeks. because many of us have now learned what others have, and that is that oral antibiotics are a waste of time for this thing.

http://www.prostatecancertreatmentop...c-prostatitis/

conversation between 2 men, one claims he had prostatitis for 2 years , seen a dozen doctors and eventually was cured the following is his story.

It starts off with a question by a guy named Richard. I very rarely if at all ever hear anyone every being cured of chronic prostatitis so I think this story is worth sharing. links above but I am printing it anyway.

How common is chronic prostatitis among men in their 30′s? Is it true there is no cure?

Iíve gone thru a lot of pain lately. I already went to the urologist.
He told me I have chronic prostatitis even though I have no signs of infection nor inflammation. So why does it hurt?
The dull pain usually appears in my testicles, specifically in the area between my testicles and my anus. He prescribed me with some antibiotics and something to relax my bladder. He said it is going to be a long treatment. Why did I get prostatitis? Help! If there is somebody else going thru this nightmareÖlet me know if a support group existsÖplease. By the way, I am 32.

Answer to question 1: Very common.
Answer to question 2: Yes, it can be cured.

Itís caused when the prostate becomes inflamed and irritated by a variety of different reasons but there are many theories. At the time I got mine, I hadnít dated anyone for a couple of years. There is no way it was STD related. However Ė I was taking weight lifting supplements with ephedra in them. Ephedra is a natural decongestant. Decongestants also thicken fluid coming from the prostate. I was also on claritin-D for allergies. Double whammy on the juices. I was also cycling every day. Triple whammy on the prostate. I was in my thirties, a time when your prostate tapers off slightly from the fluid production experienced in your twenties. Quadruple f***ing whammy on the prostate for me.
I battled this for 2 years. I went to half a dozen doctors. I finally told the last doctor ďif you donít know that you can cure me, save me my time and money or I am going to be very angry. Iíd already been through the mill with a bunch of other doctors that had no idea what they were doing and Iím sick of itĒ.
They did cure me. The place I went was the Dallas Menís Health Institute.
The problem is Ė you have a blood barrier around the prostate. Itís hard to get antibiotics in there. Once itís inflamed, it shuts off the inflow of new antibiotic laden fluid, and the outlet is also swollen shut. You need to get good fluids with meds in there. The way to do that is 1.aggressive antiinflammatory therapy. 2.Strong antibiotics 3.something to open up the blood vessels.
I took a month of either bactrim or biaxin (I canít remember
but it was one or the other. This is the antibiotic.
They also gave me a month of hytrin. This is blood pressure medicine that opens up the blood vessels. They also had me on a very strong prescription anti-inflammatory.
Also Ė and simultaneously Ė I went to an herbalist and was on several different herbs that would strengthen my immune system and increase the fluid production in that area. I donít remember all fo them, but echinacea and marshmallow root (not the same as the candy obviously) were 2 of them.
During the month of therapy, youíll need to do everything possible to give your body the upper hand. Cut out all alcohol and coffee because they are diuretic and dry out the body. Never take decongestants again. They dry out the prostate. If you have allergies, treat them with antihistamines such as zyrtec, and steroidal nose spray such as flonase. Take a hot bath once a day for about an hour. Use water as hot as you can stand. This is to boost circulation in that area.
This is the gross part Ė you can also help by buying something called a crystal wand Ė or by stopping by the doctor every couple of days, but you need to put gentle pressure on the prostate in order to move fluids into it and push out infected fluids. It has to be done right, or itís like pushing air to the wrong end of a balloon, and it will make things worse. Itís best to not mess with this aspect unless you can find a doctor that knows what needs to be done, and why. You can sometimes find this therapy at alternative medicine clinics.
Now that Iíve covered prostatitis, please go to this site and read all you can stand: http://www.fqresearch.org/
Itís about 2 of the most common antibiotics prescribed for the urinary tract Ė cipro and levaquin. You need to refuse any drug in this family. If your doctor doesnít believe you (most wonít because they are uninformed), you can take him a print-out of the AMA research papers on these drugs and their vicious side effects. I was virtually crippled by tendonitis and a partial tendon rupture in my achilles tendon by levaquin. I know it was the drug because I was doing nothing else, not working out, not anything. I went from being able to do 4 sets of 25 toe raises at 200 lbs, slowly, with huge calve muscles, and cycling almost every day Ė to super weak problematic achilles. I have never been the same since. Donít let this happen to you. These drugs are banned in some countries. The FDA and drug lobbies wonít let it happen in this country but you donít need to be a victim. All the info you need is scientifically based and available at the website above.
Good luck.
Kevin

Did he show you a positive culture to back this up? Have you gone through long previous rounds of antibiotics? If yes, I do not see what one more round will accomplish

I would say anything is possible, this disease is so strange I tell ya. Anyways, how did he find the helicobacter pylori, was it in urine, blood, prostate fluid, semen, what ? It is usually responsible for stomach infections, the 2nd link scares me a bit when the lady says it can be passed in saliva. If you actually tested positive for the H Pylori, then you may want to consider taking the antibiotic. My whole point of my own post was what is the point of taking antibiotics if no infection is ever found and half the time they worsen symptoms. By the way what antibiotic was he going to put you on, have you taken the antiniotic he wants to put you on in the past ? If so did it help you any ?

Omeprazole isn't an antibiotic, it's a proton pump inhibitor, it's to treat
gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000936/

Amoxicillin is one of those antibiotics that are up in the air, the medical community is generally split on if it can get into the prostate in a sufficient amount and kill an infection. Suffice to say Amoxicillin is one of the gentler antibiotics and usually doesn't cause any side effects. IMO It's worth a try. your doc probably found that bacteria in your GI tract, you sure don't want H.pylori hanging around. if you are lucky maybe the Amoxicillin will kill all your problems in one swoop.

The man at the link below claims he took amoxicllin for H.pylori infection and that it helped him.

Hi people sorry about not coming back on here for a while and sorry for not answering you mess Harry.
I am still the same I have stopped taking everything and it has not made a blind bit of difference.
I still get the full feeling if I dont ejaculate every 24 hours or so and thats about it.
I have had some information back from my family in Italy about prostate injections and it as all negative and a drain on your pocket.
So in October I am going to start looking to have it removed. There is nothing else I can do and I have tried everything and I have been disciplined in what ever I have tried and it did nothing to be honest over the last 18 months.
Take care people and I will be back but not as often as I used to..
