Default Can cystitis be cured by natural medicine?

I have been diagnosed with cystitis for over a year. Antibiotics didn't work on my condition. Can it be cured by natural medicine? What medicine is efficient?

Try cranberry juice. New research suggests that the beneficial substances in cranberry juice could reach the urinary tract and prevent bacterial adhesion within eight hours. A mixture of cranberry juice, water, and sweeteners found in cranberry juice cocktail was used for the study because it is the most popular cranberry beverage. The researchers discovered that in petri dishes, cranberry metabolites in the juice prevented E. coli from sticking to other bacteria, limiting its ability to grow and multiply. If E. coli is able to connect with other bacteria, such as the bacteria found in the urinary tract, it forms a layer or "biofilm." This allows the bacteria to multiply and produce an infection.

A number of controlled clinical trials -- these are carefully designed and conducted scientific studies done in humans -- have concluded that cranberry juice really is effective for preventing urinary tract infections.

Cranberry juice may not kill the bacteria, but it does cause it to lose it's "stickiness" where it can flush out of the body.

Should you find that cranberry juice does not work for you, there are a couple of natural remedies that have proven to be very effective in eliminating cystitis and/or UTI's (urinary tract infections) for many people for whom regular cranberry juice provided little or no relief.

The first one to consider is a combination of a well known cranberry concentrate called CranActin, and a concentrated dose of the natural sugar, D-Mannose, which is the specific ingredient in cranberry juice that provides the antiadherence factor mentioned by jfh.

Following are several Links where you can read about the product, Solaray D-Mannose with CranActin, including very interesting and informative reviews/testimonials.

Also note the product Links on the right hand side of the page for other sizes with additional testimonials.

See my following Post for the second product to consider, which often works when all else fails.

To read about another natural product that has worked for many, even when all else has failed, go to the next Forum topic down, entitled Alternative Therapies. Then click on the thread (currently the 6th one down) entitled, "Ionic silver or colloidal", or just click on the following Link:

http://www.natmedtalk.com/showthread.php?t=26573

Then scroll down to my Post to read about a particular brand of colloidal silver called MesoSilver.

To read about how effective it has been in eliminating UTI's (urinary tract infections) and/or cystitis, click on the Link following the paragraph near the bottom of my Post which begins, "To read testimonials...", or just click here:

http://www.colloidal-silver-colloids...stimonials.htm

Then scroll down through the list on the left hand side of the page and click on the topic/Link entitled, "Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)" and scroll through and read the testimonials. Or just click here and scroll through the testimonials:

http://www.colloidal-silver-colloids...adderinfection

To purchase the product click on the following link:

Note: I have no association with the company other than the fact that I am a satisfied customer!

Oh, I forgot about D-Mannose, Beach Man. Thanks for that. I would much prefer that than a juice. Easier to take, especially when travelling. And I don't trust grocery store fruit juices. I had some blood in my urine once, and the juice worked for me in 2 days. Later, I discovered that I had a tiny kidney stone, difficult to pass though, that was ripping tissue in the kidney or urinary tract. But I trusted the cranberry juice to keep infection at bay in a hurry.

Probiotic Therapy: Immunomodulating Approach Toward Urinary Tract Infection
To download the paper click where it says ⇣ сохранить статью there is sometimes a letter match spam trap to complete as well.~
This paper explains the way improving beneficial bacterial intake may bring an end to urinary tract and bladder infections.
A rather more user-friendly guide is here
Can Probiotics reduce Urinary Tract Infections?

Keeping your gut flora free from pathogens requires DAILY Vitamin D3 IN EFFECTIVE amounts.
Effects of high doses of vitamin D3 on mucosa-associated gut microbiome
this study shows how keeping Vitamin D3 level at/above 50ng/ml 125nmol/l enables the body to reduce pathogenic bacteria and increase beneficial gut flora. For most people DAILY 140 iu per kilogram of bodyweight VITAMIN D3 CHOLECALCIFEROL, is required to get to 125nmol/l 50ng/ml and once you've had a 25(OH)D test showing you are above that target about 70iu daily per kilogram is usually sufficient to maintain vitamin d status.
Vitamin d controls pathogens by increasing the amount of cathelicidin which is a natural antimicrobial/antifungal peptide.

Part of the problem with repeat infections in the bladder is BIOFILM.which enables the pathogenic bacteria to hide from the antibiotics used and return when the antibiotic course is finished.
Biofilm-Related Infections: Bridging the Gap between Clinical Management and Fundamental Aspects of Recalcitrance toward Antibiotics
One way of clearing biofilm is the use of GREEN TEA.
You can buy green tea capsules but it makes more sense to acquire a taste for drinking green tea.
Here we see how the vitamin D upregulation of Cathelicidin combines with the green tea extract EGCG kill of both the pathogenic bugs but also reduces the biofilms.
Human cathelicidin LL-37 enhance the antibiofilm effect of EGCG on Streptococcus mutans

I've tried cranberry juice, but it made me feel the frequent urination was worse. I'm taking a herbal medicine called diuretic and anti-inflammatory pill now. A friend told me it can cure cystitis completely. Thanks anyway.
