Question Over the Counter Overnight Lubricating Creams

I noticed today that the two main ingredients in an over the counter night time lubricating eye cream were Mineral Oil and Petrolatum. I've stopped using mineral oil and petroleum jelly awhile back because I understood they were not healthy to use internally or externally.

What are your thoughts on this, would you put these two ingredients into your eyes overnight while you slept?

I was recently at a dollar type store and have been bothered with dry eyes the last few months. I noticed a box of "Lubricant Eye Drops" and bought it. I used it a couple of times and only then did I read the active ingredients-----polyethylene glycol 400, .4%, and propylene glycol, .3%. Made in Korea!! Looks like I have been putting anti-freeze in my eyes
