Wife had a bad cough and honey didn't seem to help. Granted it was one teaspoon and not mixed with anything warm. Next time will try the coffee, cocoa, honey combo

Thyme is very popular here for coughs. A new pharmaceutical anti-cough medicine was launched a while back, pretty much giving a guarantee to knock out any cough. A bold claim.
A closer inspection of the package caused me to note the pastille contained nothing more than thyme and sorbitol!

Apple Cider Vinegar might be worth a try. Whilst its main action takes place in the stomach, it can break things up on the way down.

Awesome info on the Thyme, will keep it in mind.

I know this goes against a lot of people's grain but from my personal experience I wouldn't recommend ACV to anyone with already bad acid reflux. In my case it made it many times. But results may vary when it comes to remedies like these.

I'd have to disagree with you on that one ...

Oh I knew most would. All I know is what happened to me immediately after taking it myself. I speak for my experience not everyone else's.

I'm not saying this was the case here, but some people forget that ACV as it comes in the bottle is highly concentrated and they take it neat, rather than diluted.

I had it diluted in some juice if memory serves correctly. I probably would have gagged trying to take it neat.
