Default Arctic Passage

If a stark reminder of the extent of ice loss in the Arctic was needed, this is it!

Yikes!

Also clicked on one of the links provided on that page 'Record minimum for Arctic sea ice' and they provided more interesting info.

I'd like to find out how far back in time data collection began. This could be a natural occurance that happens every __?__ years. What do you think?

Well probably as least every summer.
From reports that I've read some say the ice fields are actually growing.
Do we really know what is going on? Or is it just disinformation to get us to think along a certain line.

I don't know what the historic ice levels are but the ice loss within the last 100 years is staggering.

The cost savings to the shipping companies will be immense, which inevitably means the passages (NE/NW) will see a big influx of shipping. An accident waiting to happen I fear...
