Default Your favorite whey protein?

We have been using Solgar Whey To Go, Vanilla because at some point I read that it is one of the lowest in terms of heavy metal content, etc... plus, it has no artificial sweeteners

Lately we have been having trouble finding it, always back ordered, only small tins available, etc...

Is there a protein powder you like that compares? There must be...

Sorry I can't be more helpful but this turned up in my email today.

Your Whey Protein and Whey Isolate May Not Be Gluten-Free: Beware “Glutamine Peptides”

Sometimes it's just amazing what food/supplement makers can do to get gluten into somewhere where no one would imagine it was hiding.

I use Now Foods WHEY PROTEIN unflavored. I used to use ON natural with vanilla and they sweeten it with Stevia, which I'm ok with, but I just rather have no flavor and put things in my shake to flavor it up the way I want.

Even the all natural ones I started to get nervous when I looked at the ingredients and there were over 50 items and half I couldn't pronounce or recognize, which is why I went to the unflavored and add healthy things to flavor it up the way I want.

Most of the time you mix it with something anyway so you don't really taste it.

I do carry a scoopof whey in a mini tupperware container & add water to it, shake it up and drink it at work when the lunch they're serving doesn't have much protein.
If I could do shots of JD when I was younger, I certainly can do a shot of unflavored, unsweetened protein

I'm looking for a protein powder without any sweetners, not even stevia. That Jarrow Whey looks promising~

I read some place that it breaks down so fast sometimes that it can cause an insulin spike. I use a slower digesting Casein. I'm thinking about going pea protein shortly.

Spirulina is about 60% protein. Plus a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals.

What percentage is whey protein, protein?

Of course, spirulina is not going to taste as good, nor will you be able to put it in a chocolate smoothie.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions, I will start investigating NOW!

Unflavoured sounds very good, we use it in green/berry smoothies so that would work... but I might get a choclate flavoured one for my choc/banana/peanut butter shakes, they're my "treat"!

I have Collagen Sport in cold coffee every am. Its gluten free and lactose free, if that interests you. Also no synthetics! Amazon has it on subscribe and save.

30 g protein, 123 calories. The collagen in it is great for joint repair!

I've tried many many brands of protein, being into lifting weights and all. The best protein by far has been from ProteinFactory.com. It's not really a brand, just a company that sources from different areas and makes custom mixes.

If you're just looking for whey concentrate, go with their New Zealand Whey Protein Concentrate. It comes from NZ, so it comes from grass fed cows. Branded grass fed whey is super expensive, but this stuff is only about 7-8$ a pound. You can choose your flavor (or unflavored) and sweetner (they have stevia). Shipping can be high, so I would usually make a large order.

But this stuff is the real deal. You could just tell by the texture how high quality it is.

Dr. Mercola sells four different ones: Miracle Whey, Opto-Optimal Whey, Pure Power Protein, and Pea Protein. Anyone have any experience with any of them?

I normally take Casein, it puffs up with stomach acids and is thus digested very slowly for sustained amino acid release. Whey for me just assimilates so fast I get an insulin spike.
