Default Alternatives to Ranch

Hello all. I am trying to go onto an organic diet as part of my treatment of my OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder).

One of the things that I need to have in my diet is vegetables. I've been eating them in a salad lately. I had been using Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing, but switched to Saba Hummus since it was healthier. They both have preservatives, I know .

I tried my salad with the Saba today, and it tasted evil. I'm not exaggerating. I put some ranch on the salad, and I actually enjoyed it a bit.

If I need ranch or something like it to bear a salad, I'd at least like the healthiest option possible.

I can't cook, I don't want to blow twenty dollars for salad dressing, and I need to be able to find it in a local organic foods store.

Thanks.

A super easy dressing is taking extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar and salt and pepper. If you want it to have a Ranch type taste add some plain yogurt to it. You can get some carrot sticks or frozen green beans and dip it in there if you want.

Cooking simple food is pretty easy. You can learn to cook healthy meals in little time.

Hi, welcome to the forum! I made a quick onion dip using Dannon Plain Greek yogurt, but I used Lipton onion soup, so it wasn't that healthy. Here's a recipe that might be good:

Hello.
I am definately a Ranch fan. I've had a hard time finding a replacement for 'normal' ranch dressing, but the following have helped to make my salads edible again():

My favorite: Health Valley Organic Ranch Dressing.
Annie's Homegrown Organic Cowgirl Ranch Dressing
O Organics Ranch Dressing
Simply Organic Ranch Dressing Mix (individual serving packets)
Organicville Ranch Dressing
Newmans Own All Natual Ranch Dressing

There are a few others I am forgetting, but I have tried all of those and enjoy them.

I also shop at a local discount grocery where I am able to purchase a lot of my organic food (except for fresh produce) at a more affordable price. Salad dressings from there are usually between $.75 to $1.49.
But I think a few of the above mentioned brands can be found in most grocery stores for around $4-5.

I have yet to study which ones are higher quality, and better for you.
But plan to soon. So much to learn!

Best of luck!
