For example, data suggests 45 minutes a day of moderate exercise could prevent about 5,500 cases of breast cancer.
Texas health officials are warning residents to take precautions when swimming.
From 1937 through 2007 only 121 cases have been reported in the U.S. All cases
with the exception of one have been fatal.

Texas health officials are warning residents to take precautions when swimming,
following the death of a seven-year-old Arlington youth. Doctors said, a seven
year old boy was the victim of a rare and nearly always infection of the brain.
The boy, his big sister, cousins and family members had been swimming in the
Paluxy River near Glen Rose, Texas, as part of a weeklong camping trip before
the start of school. Three days later, the boy died from an infection caused by
an amoeba called Naegleria fowleri.

Only a very few unlucky individuals become infected with this ameba and develop
primary amebic meningoencephalitis, better known as PAM. It is a very rare, but
nearly always fatal disease. The amoeba enters the nose and then follows the
olfactory nerve to brain. From 1937 through 2007 a total of 121 cases of PAM
have been reported in the U.S. All cases with the exception of one have been
fatal.

During a 2007 outbreak, the amoeba claimed the lives of six individuals. One of
the victims was a 14 year old Arizona boy hospitalized with symptoms of possible
meningitis. He had begun to experience a severe headache, stiff neck, and fever.
The youth had been swimming in a stream in northeastern Arizona and was observed
diving and splashing in shallow water. The hospital laboratory detected N.
fowleria in cerebrospinal fluid. The youth latter died from PAM.

During the 2007 outbreak, a Texas youngster aged 12 years was admitted to a
hospital following six days of a high fever. He had been attending a summer
camp in Central Texas in the weeks preceding his illness and had participated in
recreational water activities in a lake cove. While at camp he had visited the
camp nurses three times, reporting “not feeling well.” In spite of aggressive
treatment with a number of antibiotics the youngster died.

It is not known what concentration of N. fowleri represents an unacceptable risk
or how a standard might be established to protect human health. Why only certain
individuals become infected with the ameba while others swimming in the same
body of water do not remains a mystery.
Texas health officials are advising residents to avoid swimming in stagnant
water and to use nose clips when skiing, jet skiing, or jumping into any fresh
water. Since 2000, ten cases have been reported in Texas. All have been fatal.

Several different species of Naegleria can be found around the world.
Fortunately it is only N. fowleria that causes PAM. In the United States, it has
caused infections in the following fifteen southern states: Arizona, Arkansas,
California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New
Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. The ameba
may be found growing in warm lakes and rivers; geothermal hot springs; warm
water discharge from industrial plants; and minimally-chlorinated or
non-chlorinated swimming pools.

I read so many conflicting ideas about what you can and cannot eat and drink while taking MMS:

Don't eat protein for two hours; drinking a little orange juice to get it down is ok; DO NOT drinking vitamin C with MMS; don't drink coffee with MMS; drinking coffee is ok; and on it goes.

My goodness.
What's a soul to do?

Do any of you knowledgeable gurus have ideas on this?
I need something to help me get this stuff down.
I'm up to 12 drops---6/6---three times a day, and it's gettin' tough.

Diet Pepsi works well.
Anyone know if the phosphoric acid in soda pop affects MMS?

Can I drink coffee with it?
Can I eat protein with it?
For that matter, can I eat ANYTHING with it?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Brrrrrr...

You know it was only in the 50s here yesterday and about 60 today. My mom and I tried to jump in lake Michigan, but that didn't last long! Usually I can swim when it's 60, but the lake was exceptionally cold for September!

But either way, September means that the season "road constructon" is almost over and the season "almost winter" is about to begin! That's right folks, when August hits that means that Christmas is 4 months away! After the 4th of July that means the days are getting shorter and summer is almost over. At least in June we aren't thinking too much about "next winter", but we think about how great it is to finally be out of last winter!

The snow fence goes up on Thanksgiving, but many times we'll already have enough on the ground then. It comes down Easter Sunday, but most of the time we'll have another April snowstorm to close some of the schools...well maybe, but only if it's 10 inches or more! We just hope that May won't bring any snow because that really makes you want to move down south!!!!! But as long as there is gas in the snowblower every month of the year, you'll survive.

If it gets below -5, you can certainly count on your driveway drifting shut regardless of the snow fence. Usually you'll be covered in frost bite while trying to shovel it away in 50 mph winds.

So I'm just gonna enjoy my road construction season as long as it will last...and I'll try not to think of

Hey Guys, New Here,

I signed up because I need some advice from a expert or just someone with better knowledge than I have regarding a issue I am having. Maybe one of you can help me out.

About a month ago I got your avg cold, slight stuffy nose, with a mild cough. If I remember correctly I believe It started around the first week of August, I remember because the 14th was my trip to NY for a week, and I was trying to get rid of it before then. I ended up going still with a slight slight cold I would say. I was up there for about 8 or 9 days, and then returned back here in FL. Well, about 4 or 5 days ago.. I noticed that at night ONLY, I get congested and backed up in my nose pretty bad to the point where I cannot smell or taste ANYTHING no matter how much I blow my nose. I do not have allergies..never did.. I don't sneeze or get watery eyes or any allergy symptoms. I wake up in the morning, and after 10 to 15 minutes, and 1 or 2 nose blows.. I can smell, and taste again. This happened for the past 3 nights or so and I don't know what is wrong. I am not stuffed all day, I don't cough anymore like I'm sick. Then again at night, it comes back around like 11pm or 12am. It's really annoying. I bought some Vicks Sinex spray today, along with some sudafed hoping its still part of this cold, but having a regular cold for about a month is really odd. I don't feel weak like I'm sick like I have the flu or anything, I just do not know what is wrong. I seem ok right now as its 10pm, and I just used some vicks sinex, but I don't want to rely on it since it can do damage in the long run. Before I head to a doctor, just wondering if anyone has had this problem or know what it is.

Thanks a million.

Hello. I’m 18 years old and I have car sickness. My car sickness manifests itself before the ride even starts. For example, if in a week’s time I would be leaving town for holiday, one day before the trip I feel ill, nauseated and very weak, the state amplfying itself on the day of the departure. The nausea is very srong so that before getting into the car I feel the need to vomit. If I don’t know I have to leave somewhere I still feel ill. Another example is when I leave for shopping, I don’t feel nauseated right away, but as quickly as I smell the car emanation(not fuel smell) I feel ill and vomit. I don’t really feel ill because the car wouldn’t be clean inside. Further more, my family changed four cars until now. Every time the first month was great, I wouldn’t feel sick, but after a while I would get used to the smell of the car and feel sick again. I can’t stand any car freshner. During the ride I have a weak condition and nausea. Before I get in the car I am a bit scared, my heart beats faster and, unfortunately, I vomit. It’s not really a car sickness due to the inner ear and loss of balance because I feel sick before getting into the car. I believe this is a case of fear of feeling ill and then I feel ill. What can I do? I'm desperate...
