Thought I would start this thread as we have a few homeopaths on board.
I have gone to homeopaths since 1976 and have had great success in some difficult situations... since then I have learned to do some things on my own and took a course through the British Institute of Homeopathy. I am not a great homeopath and Kents Rep. drives me nuts... but I have managed to keep my family healthy and away from antibiotics with it and when things get to tough for me I go see someone highly skilled... which right now means a plane ride to Seattle or at least a phone call to there.
Yes, these consults are expensive! and thats why I learned to do some on my own and I have been able to help others along the way. But I have never regretted spending the money. I've only had a couple of remedies that did not work over the years...so I guess you could say I lost money on those, but what I found is that if I persist I usually find the right remedy and avoid all the patch work that supplements and herbs lend to. Homeopathy can cure and the cure can be permanent.
itlmtnhomeopath - I noticed that you use homeopathic vaccination. I have used that also according to Goldens recommendations, yet I have no real way to know if they are working or not... do you have any comments on their use? Do you use Golden's schedule?
For those who are not familiar you can read up on it here: http://www.healthsalon.org/195/homeo...-issac-golden/

Since tetanus is associated with puncture wounds you should keep the homeopathic remedy of Ledum 200c around and this remedy should be given routinely with any puncture wound.
with it being summertime and with the fact that we live out in the country, someone will most likely do something silly that will require stitches and a tetnus shot.... Having these on hand would be great...Do we need to go thru a homeopathic doctor in order to get the vaccine, or can we order thru ???? and keep them in our medicine cabinet? I am going to see if I can find ledum asap, and keep handy.
Hmmm, what is the remedy for poison ivy?

Thanks arrowwind09 for the thread. I am sure all us homoeopaths will make good use of it.
Just me the remedy made from poison ivy is Rhus toxicodendron. It can be used to treat the effects of poison ivy rash, you could also use Urtica urens. However it would always be best to prescribe a medicine based on the individual symptoms, with a frustrating book like Kent's repertory ( @ Arrowwind09), or by using a lovely piece of software called Radar that allows you to repertorise using the speed and ease of a computer.

How do we know whether any kind of vaccination/immunization works? By looking at the statistics. Golden provides a lot of evidence in his work. I have also listed some statistics on my webpage: http://www.littlemountainhomeopathy....-immunizations
I am still working on the immunizations part of my website and hope to get more information up within the next few days.
I have definitely used Ledum for infections and it has worked, I have no doubt that it would work in place of a tetanus shot. The best potency seems to be Ledum 30C.

The remedy for infections that you should use is Ledum 30C. You can get this in most natural health food stores or they can order it in for you. It is a very common remedy. I believe you can also order it online.
Ah, the old potency battle!
There are low potency prescribers and high potency prescribers. When something is acute and it matches I use higher potency...but you should use whatever potency you have rather than leave it untreated. 30 c may require more repetition. I see Golden says 30c.
Ledum is not necessarily for infection, it can treat a number of things, including a wide variety of infections, but it is specific for infection in a puncture wound with very specific symptoms. In most cases you will be only using it prophylactically to prevent the infection of tetanus. In my house if you get a puncture wound you get ledum, period. I have also used it for spider bites but with that I wait till some symptoms to develop to prescribe upon. I don't wait if the puncture is caused by an object.
